Invisible Fillings

Given the right conditions, bacteria in your mouth can begin to form decay ( cavities) , left alone, this could get bigger resulting in need for a root canal treatment or even loss of a tooth. To avoid this scenario, we remove the weakened tooth structure and replace it with a filling material. Fillings are relatively routine in any practice but creating fillings that are virtually undetectable are the pride of our office. We implement ultra refined techniques and attention to fine detail to achieve the most natural looking restorations.

Crowns

When a tooth has suffered from multiple cracks, large areas of decay and as a result has a large filling(s) ,and/or a traumatic event resulting in a lost portion of tooth structure, a crown can restore that tooth to feel, look and perform properly. A crown can be fabricated from gold and thus be metallic/gold looking in appearance, or can have a metal underbelly coated with porcelain to achieve a higher esthetic standard. Sometimes, crowns fabricated entirely out of porcelain (or other tooth colored materials) are an excellent choice in highly esthetic areas (such as front teeth) or for a patient who is allergic to certain types of metals. Although technology has significantly improved the quality of dental porcelains and streamlined the manner in which crowns are constructed, the technique used to prepare a tooth for a crown and for crown fabrication are quite the same as it was 20 yrs ago. All our crowns are fabricated entirely from porcelain. We set a high standard of what we place in patients mouth to ensure it functions well and looks esthetic. The following before/after photos show a variety of situations in which crowns were used for the restoration of broken-down teeth. The overwhelming esthetic improvement and life like tooth reconstruction was achieved with ultra-refined dental techniques.

Bridges/Implants

A missing tooth can result in a myriad of dental, masticatory (chewing) and esthetic obstacles. The teeth on either side of the space left by a missing tooth can drift, causing periodontal disease, additional spaces between teeth, and even decay. Chewing without a molar can be frustrating and inefficient. In addition, missing teeth can cause a patient to be very self-conscious about their smile, compromising their ability to look and feel themselves. Bridges and implants can provide permanent solutions to all of the above.

Maryland Bridges (Advanced)

Patient is congenitally missing her lateral incisors. Her canines have grown in right next to the 2 front teeth, causing a less than desirable appearance.

Orthodontic treatment has pushed the canines back to their normal position, creating appropriate space for upcoming porcelain lateral incisors. Bonding has also been added to the side of one of the front teeth (subsequently the other was done as well) to create a beautiful natural curve to an otherwise straight surface

The final result: no surgery, no implants, no crowns. Ultra Modified Maryland bridges are permanently cemented to complete this patients journey to a natural and beautiful smile.

Cosmetic Bondings

Sometimes, a smile can have shortcomings- spaces, uneven and ill-shaped teeth, disproportionally small or large teeth etc. One patient may be entirely comfortable with these characteristics. Another may desire a remedy to these flaws. One of the most difficult yet truly ideal solutions to the aforementioned is the application, or veneering of white filling materials to front teeth, also known as cosmetic bonding.

The challenge for the dentist is multi-faceted: color, shape, contour, texture, opacity/translucency, balance. Each tooth needs to work in its own, and within the arch in harmony with other teeth, whether they are untouched, or have been restored themselves. It was be a daunting task but because of how little the tooth is altered to perform this procedure, it is ultra-conservative, reversible (as the following case was) and beautiful.

Extraction

In situations where a tooth has extensive decay that it cannot be fixed or there is loss of bone structure and ligament to support the tooth or is grossly infected and has an abscess we recommend the removal of the tooth. In situations where a tooth has extensive decay that it cannot be fixed or there is loss of bone structure and ligament to support the tooth or is grossly infected and has an abscess we recommend the removal of the tooth. The area is anesthetized so that it is painless. The tooth is gently lifted out of the socket. The area is then compressed and packed with gauze to decrease the oozing. Post operative discomfort is easily managed with the recommended dosage of Advil and Tylenol. Verbal and written instructions are given at the end of every appointment.Whitening There are times a patient may be unhappy with the color of their teeth and would like lighter, brighter teeth or as part of cosmetic bonding we recommend your undergo whitening. Whitening is a simple process by which a set concentration of Carbamide peroxide is applied to the teeth for a set amount time. We offer two kinds of whitening:- At home whitening: Impressions of your teeth are taken and custom trays fabricated. You place drops of the bleaching agent in the trays and wear them for a set amount of time till you achieve the desired shade.- In office whitening: we use the ZOOM whitening system.  It is approximately a hour and half procedure where the material is applied on the teeth in the chair, and repeated until the desired shade is achieved.
